the steps of the US Capitol on Oct 3rd, 2000 at 10 a.m..

Millennium International Volunteer Award presentation
to Xavier Cortada by U.S. Department of State and USA
Today on March 1, 2000 at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C. A panel
of representatives from the international education and cultural exhange community
selected 30 winners, including President Jimmy Carter and Cortada, who receives the award in recognition for his collaborative art projects on four
continents during the past decade.

Master-Peace 2000:
Implementation of the second half of the school-based art project exploring the lessons
learned by humanity during the part millennium. The Internet-centered collaborative
art project is co-sponsored by Miami-Dade Art in Public Places; Miami-Dade Public School's
Division of Life Skills and Regis House. This semester's five schools are:
Booker T. Washington High School, Carver Middle School, Paul Bell Middle School ,Ruben
Dario Middle School, and Shenandoah Middle School. Miami, FL.

Xavier Cortada by FAVA/CA during Florida
International Day Activities, February 23, 2000, Tallahassee, Florida.

Jubilee
Day dedicated to Artists The Vatican, Vatican City:
Miami artist Xavier Cortada will travel to the Vatican
to participate in the Jubilee Day for Artists on February 17 and 18th, 2000.
Cortada will be one of only 600 artists and cultural figures invited by the Vatican from
every country in the world to reflect on this Jubilee Year.

"Art of Inclusion: A Children's
Collage." Creation of a collaborative mural that allows children
with normal developmental abilities to work together with their peers who have varying
disabilities such as hearing impairment, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, and genetic
disorders. The University of Miami Mailman Center/Debbie School children and their
families will join staff in this effort co-sponsored by the St. Stephen's Art Festival and
the Miami-Dade Cultural Affairs Council. The project begins February 2000 at the
University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital Complex, Miami, FL.

for "In the
Capitol" -- Xavier Cortada's solo exhibit in Florida State Cabinet
meeting room. The exhibit, held from November 26, 1999 through February 4,
2000 is part of the State's Division of Cultural Affairs Capitol Complex exhibit
